World of Work
There are thousands of jobs most young adults can’t consider because they don’t know they exist!
Take a look at the Dictionary of Occupational Titles. It is a great sleep aide until you stumble into jobs like…
“Worm Grower” or “Wart Remover.”
The point is, knowing what is out there in the World of Work is vital for serious career and college exploration – and if you hope to land in a career that is fun to live and that fuels your passions.
The CareerConnection program represents over 90 years of combined career mentoring to lead you exactly where you want to be.
The program is designed, tried and tested in the world of work to get you clear on your skills and passions; and then uncover jobs that fit you. It gets you prepared, either with the right schooling direction or garnering those vital self-marketing skills for landing the job.
Most people find their dream jobs in hidden careers that wouldn’t easily come to mind.
For instance, we’ve met:
- Glen Campbell’s Road Manager — a position that is perfect for a highly organized concert lover who loves to travel.
- A woman who was a Casting Director for a well-known Hollywood Producer. Her “duties” include reading novels and attending plays and movies.
- A woman who organized and managed the Bob Hope Desert Classic golf tournament for over 15 years. We knew Bob didn’t do this!
You don’t have to shelf your dreams when you are planning your work world. You can make money doing what you love.
Exploring the world of work is fun – and it gets you clear, prepared and connected in all the right ways.
