What do I need to use the CareerConnection.me learning community?
You only need a web browser, an Internet connection, and a CareerConnection.me membership.
How do I sign up?
You sign up on the web at our subscribe page. Once we receive your subscription information, you will receive your log-in information from Jen, the community manager here at CareerConnection.me. If you have any difficulty, contact us. We’re here to help get you going quickly.
How will I get a user name and password?
Once you sign up, you will receive your log-in information from the CareerConnection.me community manager, Jen. She will set up your account for you and send you a user name, a password, and a few tips on getting started. It’s easy!
Do you find members a job?
CareerConnection is a learning community that teaches young adults job search skills and how to market themselves to an employer. We do not “place” young adults in a job or have job listings. Members will be learning the essential work life skills to help them land a job in a field they love. CareerConnection.me has opportunities to connect with various professionals and mentors, but they are not recruiters. Your young adult will use the skills they learn here now and throughout their professional lives.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard and PayPal payments. This allows you to pay for your membership using the highest security measures and to pay in the way it suits you. A PayPal account is not required.
How will the charge appear on my credit card?
The charge will appear as PAYPAL *CAREERCONNE.
I am a parent. Can I join with my child?
You have access to the same career-advancing learning as your child – and more! – in the CareerConnection.me Parent Community. With your child’s membership, you automatically get a Parent Community membership!
The young adult learning community allows your child the space and learning to explore and prepare for his or her career with professional career mentors and coaches, as well as other serious young adults.
The Parent Community, designed to help you be an effective career coach for your child, encompasses the same materials as the young adult community with added benefits! You can connect with other parents of young adults who are navigating the same waters you are with your child’s college and career choices and helping them be competitive in a demanding work world. And of course, the career discovery tools apply to working adults as well as those entering the world of work!
Can I get a refund?
We offer monthly, quarterly and annual memberships. You can cancel your monthly membership at any time and will receive no further monthly billings. We do not offer refunds for unused months or partial months.
I signed up for a year subscription, and my son landed a job in 90 days! He isn’t using the subscription as much. Can I transfer it to another user, say a friend of his?
Subscriptions are not transferable.
My young adult is still in high school. Is it too soon to use this website?
No! We welcome high school students and CareerConnection.me will help your high school student with college and major choices. Career exploration and self marketing skills developed in high school will give your child an edge and will help them with internships, part time jobs, volunteer and leadership positions in high school and later in college. For students pursuing college, CareerConnection.me offers guidance to direct the process of choosing a college, being ready and with admissions.
How do I cancel my membership?
Just send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us you wish to cancel. Be sure to provide us the name on the credit card you used to pay for your membership, and the name of the member.
